Get Ready For Summer!

Like most moms, I don't always have a lot of time for myself.  So I need quick easy recipes that will save me money, make me feel beautiful, and are healthy.  I also like the idea of my daughters getting to help and enjoy as well.  Here are a few great ideas I found at http://doterrablog.com/category/diy/ for getting yourself ready for the summer!  Let me know how they worked for you.

DIY: Coconut Salt Scrub

What you need:

1 cup organic virgin coconut oil

1 cup Pink Himalayan (or Epsom) salt

1/4 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil

15 drops of your favorite essential oil

Directions:

1. Melt coconut oil in microwave or double boiler.

2. Once melted, remove from heat.

3. Add Fractionated Coconut Oil and Pink Himalayan (or Epsom) salt into melted coconut oil.

4. Stir until combined.

5. Add essential oil.

6. Let sit until coconut oil solidifies, stirring every 10 minutes.
Tip: Put in refrigerator to speed up cooling process

7. Stir until well combined and store in airtight container.

8. To use, rub on skin and rinse with warm water.

My personal suggestion on oils...  If you plan on using this in the morning try using Peppermint Essential Oil for an extra pick-me-up and Lavender Essential Oil to help relax in the evening.  If your feet seem to be really dry, try mixing in some Melaleuca Essential Oil.

Very Important...

As with any product, you should always read how to use it.  Some doTERRA Oils can be consumed while others should only be used topically.  These two quick reference guides will help make finding the information a little easier.

Please remember to always ask your doctor if it is safe for you to use these products
if you are pregnant, nursing, or have other health issues.

Just getting started...

So I just got enrolled as a doTerra Consultant yesterday and already I am completely excited about the potentials of not only making a little money, but also about learning how to keep my family healthy by eliminating chemicals.

All five of my kids, including the 2 "bonus kids" have some type of skin problem.  Four of them have excema, two of them have developed juvenile warts, and two of them have severe cold sores.  Yes, they are somewhat of a mess.  So when the baby started experiencing horrible excema and then was given juvenile warts by a sibling, I had to find something that I felt safe using.  That is when a friend of mine turned me onto doTerra Oils.  I started using organic coconut oil with a few drops of lavender after every bath in the evening.  Not only did it help him sleep, but it also helped to heal his cracked skin and to my surprise started to get rid of the warts.  Wart is such and ugly word and boy does it fit what we have gone through.  After swearing by this doTerra Oil recipe, I decided I would like more.

My friend then gave me a sample of Lemon.  Oh my gosh is smells wonderful.  To be honest, I keep it with me at all times and when I start to feel stressed I just open my little bottle and breathe in the amazing smell.  It seems to relieve the stress I am feeling.  I also mixed it in with some white distilled vinegar for a safe natural cleaner.  Oh how I love not using a chemical.

Now here I am getting excited about learning more, using more, and helping my friends!  I plan to share everything I learn right here.  If you would like to shop or are maybe interested in becoming a consultant, be sure to visit my website!
